A Different Love

One last wish
before the end.
I know this tunnel just began,
but I can’t walk it with you,
if we’re headed in opposite directions.
Still, I’ll be your lady,
if you’ll be my man.
We’ll share a different kind of love.
With no strings or tears
or traditions attached.
We’ll walk hand in hand
with the wind at our back,
and share a different kind of love.
So let’s just forget
the what-if’s and has-been’s,
because wondering
never never got us anywhere.
If we bury this hole
and take two steps back,
We’ll finally, at last,
lay out in the sun…
to share this different kind of love.
